I graduated from the University of Illinois in Chicago with my bachelor in German. While enrolled, I studied Spanish, Arabic, Polish, and French. I've lived in Poland and Germany, as well as visited Europe, the Middle East, Peru, and Mexico. I am a journalist with over two decades of newspaper experience as an editor and reporter. I am currently involved in an education and advocacy organization as the media director. I have a variety of teaching experience. I spent a couple of years in a Midwest-based community college teaching English as a Second Language. In addition, I've taught for Sunday school at a local church and led the 4-H and Girl Scout troupes that my daughters joined. As a tutor, I work to combine fun and practicality in my sessions. Along with languages, I tutor students in world religions, literature, writing, and public speaking. I can help a student learn to edit their college essays to achieve higher scores, as well as improve their understanding of conversational German. I use personalized learning methods to ensure that my students have a full grasp of the concepts as I explain them. In my free time, I enjoy swimming, attending the ballet, and viewing art galleries.
